Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. When she was only five years old and moved to Oxfordshire and attended the Dragon School. From the age of six Emma realized that she wanted to become an actress. For a number of years she attended the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied singing dancing and acting. When she was ten, she was performing and taking the role of lead in a number of Stagecoach performances and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was made in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been cast in these roles. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first film on the screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. The film was also the most successful film in 2001. Opening weekend and day sales were record-breaking. The film was well-received by experts, as was the performance of three new stars. The Daily Telegraph, an important British paper, called Emma's portrayal "amazing". Then Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her role in the film, winning an award called the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in an Feature Film.
