Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21 1982. She is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. The couple had separated and she relocated with her mother in Los Angeles. They were struggling to get by when she got her first acting role as Rachel's Room's main character. Her performance of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. movie Murder In Greenwich in 2002, earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford's role she played in Lost between 2004 and 2005, was selected for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace, who had worked alongside Tom Welling on The Fog in the year 2005, was looking to go into film. The actress starred in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) alongside Liam Neeson. Her role was reprised in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon on the final episode and two other episodes. In 2013 she appears in Season 6 of Californication. The actress portrays Faith as a groupie, and also a model for actors. As a member of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the child of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in the films of her father when he was an adolescent. Along with her brother, she appeared as a character in Donnie Darko (2000). The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, both 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). The leading roles of Gyllenhaal in Secretary, a romantic comedy-drama erotico, as well as Sherrybaby (a film) received her nominations for Golden Globe Award. After several commercially successful films in 2006, including World Trade Center she received more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). As an unmarried mother in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she was in comedies and dramas such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 The other roles she's played included Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 an action thriller) and musicians in Frank (2014 Drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) as well as the role of the kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal's first film as a director and writer took place in 2021, with The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama for which she received an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. She also won an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
